Early yesterday morning was far from peaceful on Millbury St. in Worcester when police were called to respond to a car break-in. The Worcester Police Department reported that officers received a call around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday about a larceny from a parked vehicle. The details revealed that party essentials—speakers and DJ equipment—had been stolen.
The investigation moved quickly, with officers determining that two men were responsible for prying open the vehicle's trunk to steal the goods. After issuing a BOLO, the search by local authorities didn’t last long. They stopped 43-year-old Lawrence Gaul of South Buffum St. and found him in possession of the stolen speakers.
According to the official statement from the Worcester Police Department, Mr. Gaul found himself under arrest for Breaking into a Vehicle during the Nighttime and Larceny Over $1200. As for the speakers, they were quickly reunited with their rightful owner, no doubt bringing a sense of relief mixed with the lingering sour note of violation.
