An incident at an Amazon Fulfillment Center in Fall River, Massachusetts resulted in the hospitalization of eleven employees on Friday after they were exposed to an unknown chemical reaction, reportedly initiated by a battery. According to NBC Boston, the building, located on Innovation Way, was evacuated as a precaution whilst the Fall River Police Department and HazMat crews addressed the situation.
Following the evacuation, the Fall River Fire Special Service engaged in decontamination processes for those affected before their transportation to local hospitals. The exact nature and severity of their injuries were not immediately disclosed. Amidst the HazMat response, the facility remained a hub of emergency activity. According to reports by 7NEWS, emergency crews were still present at the scene as of 5:30 p.m.
