
An 11-year-old girl was struck by a car this morning in the Whitehaven area of Memphis, generating community concern and police response. The incident occurred at the intersection of Millbranch Road and East Raines Road, as reported by Action News 5. According to the Memphis Police Department, the collision took place just after 7 a.m., a time when local schoolchildren are often on their way to nearby educational institutions such as A. Maceo Walker Middle School and Gardenview Elementary School.
First responders quickly arrived to aid the youngster after the accident. WREG relayed that Memphis Police officers responded to the crash site before 7:20 a.m. and discovered that the young girl had sustained injuries. She was promptly transported to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. The girl's injuries were classified as non-critical.
