On Thursday morning, an argument over fast food escalated inside a car. Damonte Williams, 18, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action after allegedly shooting a woman who threw food at him. According to local authorities, Williams and the victim were among five individuals in the vehicle when the dispute turned deadly, according by St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Prosecutors have stated that during their ride, Williams threatened the woman, saying, "If you throw something again, I will shoot you," as described in court documents obtained by KSDK. The victim, reportedly, responded with an assertion that she would shoot Williams back. It was then that Williams purportedly fired the shot which ultimately proved fatal, with the bullet piercing through her arm and into her chest.

The group, which included the suspect and the 23-year-old victim, Mazzie Hughes, drove to a hospital after the incident. A report from KSDK stated that Williams turned himself in to hospital security as the shooter. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond. While details of the heated exchange that led to Hughes' death are still emerging, First Alert 4 reports that food was allegedly thrown at Williams before the shooting.
