An 18-year-old woman sustained a grazing gunshot wound during a shooting on a St. Louis Metro bus on Wednesday around 12:45 a.m. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Kingshighway and Natural Bridge. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported that the victim was uncooperative with officers.
Initial reports suggest that a male acquaintance of the victim was causing a disturbance on the bus. After being instructed by the driver to leave, the suspect produced a firearm and proceeded to recklessly shoot at the driver through the window. The bullet, missing its intended target, went on to graze the chest of the young woman. The suspect quickly fled and is still at large, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
District 6 investigators are looking for leads to catch the shooter. The young woman, who has not been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. Police encourage anyone with information to come forward.
