
In the early hours of Tuesday, tragedy struck in Atlanta after a vehicle, carrying three individuals, crashed on 12th St NE & W Peachtree St NW. According to the Atlanta Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. and resulted in the death of a 24-year-old woman. Responding Zone 5 officers discovered the car had been traveling in the wrong direction along W Peachtree St. NW before the collision with a cement construction barrier.
The driver, a 21-year-old female, survived the crash and has been charged in connection with the incident. Following the accident, all occupants were rushed to a local hospital. Despite efforts by medical personnel, the 24-year-old passenger succumbed to her injuries. The driver is currently being held at the Fulton County Jail as the investigation into the cause of the crash continues.
The Atlanta Police Department has not released the names of the deceased or the driver. The condition of a third person in the vehicle is also unclear. Investigators are working to determine the events leading up to the crash and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
