Antioch residents are grappling with a case of family violence after a man was arrested in connection to the deaths of his mother and half-brother. In a solemn dispatch from the Antioch Police Department, officials reported that Mark Taylor, 46, has been taken into custody on two counts of murder. The grim discovery was made yesterday after officers were summoned for a welfare check at a residence on Fairmont Lane.
Upon their arrival shortly after 4 pm, the responding officers found two bodies in an advanced state of decomposition. Taylor was encountered trying to leave the home as police made their entrance. It was later revealed by the Antioch Police Department's Investigations Bureau that Taylor was related to the victims, the elder being his mother and the younger being his half-brother.
The Investigations Bureau, equipped with Crime Scene Investigators and detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit, has now fully taken charge of the case. The Antioch Police Department remains tight-lipped, disclosing no further details at the current juncture. The Antioch Police Department, in their press release, assured that any new information would emanate directly from the Investigations Bureau.
