Residents in Apache Junction and select areas of Pinal County have a prime opportunity to clear out their homes of unwanted hazardous items responsibly. An announcement on the City of Apache Junction's official website sets the date: the Household Hazardous Waste Event is scheduled for November 16, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Public Works Yard at 575 E. Baseline Ave.
At this event, locals can expect to safely dispose of numerous items, including used oil, paint, and batteries. Electronics such as computers and TVs, along with white goods like washers and dryers, will also be accepted. The organizers have further planned to have document shredding on-site, providing a secure way to certainly deal with sensitive papers. However, there are restrictions: passenger vehicle tires must be without rims, and bulk trash items will not make the cut this time.
The event is for residential waste only, so no commercial waste will be accepted. This focus ensures proper processing and encourages community involvement. To make access easier, the City of Apache Junction's official website includes an event map and entrance route.
For those with further questions, the Public Works Department is ready to assist and can be reached at (480) 474-1055.
