Apache Junction's "Free Dump Week" runs from Nov. 4 to Nov. 9, allowing residents to dispose of unwanted items at the landfill for free, courtesy of the city's partnership with Republic Services.
You can dispose of your trash for free, but there are some rules to follow. Residents must show proof of residency, like a water bill, and are limited to one pickup truck bed of trash per household, with a maximum load of 500 lbs. If you exceed this limit, regular fees apply. "Please note that safety is our top priority, and all visitors are required to wear hard hats and vests while at the landfill," as noted by the Apache Junction official website.
The landfill at 4050 S Tomahawk Rd will be open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. If you don’t have a hard hat and vest, you can buy them on-site for under $15.
