
Nonprofit organizations in Athens-Clarke County can access federal funding to support community development efforts. The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) has announced approximately $1.2 million available for the FY26 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. According to a release from the department, the funds are designated for activities related to affordable housing, economic development, public services, and improvements to public facilities.
To inform eligible nonprofits about the application process, the HCD is hosting a virtual meeting. This session will provide essential details on accessing the HUD-provided funds for the intended community development and housing initiatives. The meeting is scheuled for October 17, at 10:00 a.m., and interested parties can join through a WebEx link or watch the recorded session afterwards on the HCD website.
