Online registration for Athens-Clarke County's Winter Program will open soon, offering activities like arts, environmental science, recreation, sports, and seasonal festivities for adults and children. Residents can register beginning at 9 a.m. on November 2, according to the County's official website. Non-resident registration will start on Monday, November 4, at noon.
For those new to the program or needing to update their accounts, it is recommended to create a free online profile at www.accgov.com/myrec before registration day. Participants can complete their registration using various payment methods, including American Express, Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa, and MasterCard or Visa gift cards. Registration will remain open until spots are filled or the programs begin.
Community support includes scholarships for participants in need. New applicants or those with expired scholarships should visit any Leisure Services Department office at least five business days before registration. Applications for assistance must be completed in person. Additional information on scholarship applications can be found at www.accgov.com/scholarship.
For those without a computer or smartphone, Athens provides resources. Residents can use computer labs at various community parks, including Heard Park, Lay Park, and Howard Park, during regular operating hours to access the internet.
