A suspect in a series of break-ins in Roxbury's Shetland Street has been detained following a police chase, as per the Boston Police Department. The arrest of Misael Fuentes occurred yesterday at abouth 12:42 AM, after officers patrolling the area recognized him from a BRIC flyer detailing a wanted individual linked to multiple burglaries.
Upon seeing the suspect at the juncture of Blue Hill Avenue and Southwood Street, police attempted to engage, but Fuentes fled on an electric scooter. The chase ensued until the man crashed into a fence at 19 Forest Street and was subsequently apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. A check revealed that he had five active warrants for various Breaking and Entering charges.
Officers have charged Fuentes with Leaving the Scene of Property Damage and Failure to Stop for Police and is set to face these additional charges at the Roxbury District Court. As the investigation continued, detectives confirmed Fuentes' involvement in the Shetland Street incidents, and they are in the process of seeking further criminal complaints.
