
Two suspects face charges following an incident in Dorchester involving a firearm and a stolen moped. Boston police apprehended a 17-year-old juvenile male and Jeremiah Charles, 18, of Abington, late Wednesday night. According to the official report from the Boston Police Department, officers were responding to a call around 10:28 p.m. at 1604 Dorchester Avenue, where they were informed of an armed individual and a recently stolen moped spotted at a local gas station.
The situation began to unfold when the moped's owner confronted the two individuals, which resulted in one of the suspects allegedly brandishing a gun. After the confrontation, the suspects fled the scene towards Bourneside Street. Police efforts led to the apprehension of the juvenile near Park and Marlowe Streets and Charles was found under a parked vehicle on Bourneside Street. A subsequent search in the vicinity led to the recovery of a Glock 22 with one round in the chamber and thirteen rounds in magazine.
Facing multiple charges, the juvenile's listed accusations include unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device. He is also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and threats to commit a crime. Charles has been charged with trespassing, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and threat to commit a crime. Both are set to be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court.
