A Dorchester man faces multiple charges following a narcotics investigation that netted a cache of drugs, a weapon, and a sum of cash over the weekend, according to local law enforcement. On Saturday afternoon, Boston Police from District E-5 and District C-11 raided an apartment on Melbourne Street, where they arrested 24-year-old Almani Vasquez. The suspect is now caught up in the gears of the justice system as he faces charges related to firearm and drug offenses.
During the execution of a search warrant, the Boston Police Department's Drug Control Units made significant recoveries: a loaded Beretta Pico .380 caliber firearm, a high-capacity magazine, ammunition, quantities of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms, alongside drug paraphernalia that hints at the operation’s extent. Officers uncovered all this and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency in what appears to be a meticulously planned sting by the Boston Police. Police reports indicate that the firearm was stowed with one round in the chamber and one in the magazine, implying readiness for immediate use.
Vasquez's upcoming arraignment at Dorchester District Court will address several charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine, improper storage of a firearm, and possession with intent to distribute Class B and Class C substances, specifically cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms.
