The specifics of the development were detailed by Brentwood City Manager Kirk Bednar, who specified that the expansion entails widening the road from the three-way stop intersecting with Split Log Road stretching up to Glenellen subdivision, laying down a track that encompasses 1.3 miles of ground, stated in a report from the City of Brentwood.
The project blueprint calls for transforming the currently restricted roadway into a three-lane avenue, occasionally split by a median, flanked by a multi-use trail spanning 10 feet on one side and a sidewalk along the other—promises of a more connected and accessible Brentwood rising on the horizon. The City of Brentwood captured Bednar's account, "This is for the widening of Ragsdale Road, from the three-way stop with Split Log, up to the Glenellen subdivision," and continued his explanation on the proposed layout and the pedestrian path offerings.
Handing the reins over to Cleary Construction, the Commission's choice of contractor was strategized years prior within the city's capital plan, marking not only a chosen path but a thoughtful and projected stride towards Brentwood's infrastructural upgrade. The endgame is an envisioned completion by April 28, 2027, whilst a tantalizing $250,000 bonus lies in wait should Cleary deliver by the earlier date of June 28, 2026, as the City of Brentwood reports, highlighting the incentivization for an accelerated finish.
