
A police chase in Brooklyn Park ended without injury but with one arrest after a suspect's vehicle crashed and the driver attempted to flee on foot Monday evening, according to a report released by the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
The incident began when officers, in pursuit of an assault suspect, spotted a vehicle corresponding to the description provided and initiated a stop as the driver headed south on Zane Ave N from Candlewood Dr, this action, however, led the suspect to accelerate away from the authorities, sparking a vehicle pursuit. Following a brief chase, the suspect's vehicle collided with two other cars at the intersection of Zane Ave N and Brooklyn Blvd, rendering the fugitive's vehicle inoperable and leading to a foot chase as police officers also attended to the other individuals involved in the crash; remarkably, no one was hurt during the tumultuous events.
The driver, an adult female and not the individual sought for the initial assault, was apprehended after the on-foot chase; subsequent to her capture, it was revealed that she has an outstanding felony warrant, the Brooklyn Park Police Department confirmed she was subsequently booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center.
The identity of the woman and specifics of her felony warrant have not been disclosed by authorities.
