Chandler's very own annual Creative Expression Competition is throwing the doors wide open for entries, with the city's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division leading the charge, reports indicate the theme this year lands on a mighty positive note: "Inclusion is our Superpower," as stated by the City of Chandler, Arizona. This inventive initiative is not just for the artistically inclined adults, it's for the up-and-coming Picassos and Hemingways from grades K-12 who live or go to school in Chandler, showcasing that inclusivity knows no age limit.
Let the creativity begin and be sure to have your submissions in by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 – this includes visual artworks or, if words are more your thing, one-page written essays, all the direction you need is a click away on the competition's website where submission guidelines, judging criteria, and the all-important entry forms await your collection.
For the physical art of paper and pen, submissions are hand-deliverable—entry form snugly attached—at a selection of drop-off points throughout the city: from the Chandler City Hall to your local Basha, Downtown, Hamilton, or Sunset Libraries, those looking to play a part can start gearing their entries towards these specified locations. No need to fret if you arrive empty-handed, as entry forms are gleefully ready to be snatched up at each drop-off point.
Come December, the creative floods will spill into the Chandler Public Libraries for an exhibition, where the community can bathe in the diverse expressions of their kin speaking of recognition, mark your calendars for Jan. 6, that's the latest day winners will hear that joyous news of their success, but it's the 30th Annual Chandler Multicultural Festival stage on Jan. 18, 2025, where they'll shine receiving a modest prize but basking in immodest glory, as per the City of Chandler.
