The Chandler Public Library's Writer-in-Residence program returns this fall, inviting local authors to connect with young adult author Amy Fellner Dominy. From October to December, she will offer one-on-one consultations and group workshops to improve writing and navigate publishing, as announced on the City of Chandler website.
The sessions will cover various topics, including character development, dialogue creation, and crafting query letters. Creatives in the Chandler area can get personalized advice from Amy Fellner Dominy, a published author for all age groups, from toddlers to teens. "We are honored to host Amy Fellner Dominy at the Chandler Public Library," said Chandler Library Program Manager Jean Reynolds on the City of Chandler announcement.
Amy Fellner Dominy is not just an author but also an educator whose work has been duly recognized with various accolades, including the Arizona Grand Canyon Reader’s Award and the ALA Sydney Taylor Notable Award. Her involvement in the Writer-in-Residence program is a valued asset, particularly for those embarking on their own authorial journeys.
Residents interested in the Writer-in-Residence sessions can attend at three Chandler Library branches: Basha, Downtown, and Sunset, ending on December 19. The sessions are funded in part by the Arizona State Library, supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
