Details provided by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) explain that the crash took place at around 10:16 a.m. on Thursday. A tow truck was stationed on the right shoulder when it was struck in the left rear by a pickup truck. The force of the impact, as DPS officials stated, "tore off the right side of the pickup killing a 9-year-old male and 11-year-old female. Both children were in seatbelts."
