According to WCPO, the event will feature local fare, celebrity appearances, and an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most photos of hot dogs uploaded to Instagram within an hour.
Hopeful participants in the record-setting attempt slated between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. must upload photos of Skyline's cheese coneys to their public Instagram feeds, remembering to use the hashtag #SkylineChiliWorldRecord. It's an endeavor as unique as the brand, which has long been synonymous with its signature chili-doused spaghetti and cheese-covered hot dogs. Skyline Chili urged fans to make this first-ever attempt at such a record, Local12 reported, as it eyes expansion beyond its traditional Midwest stomping grounds.
While attendees revel in the festivities, Skyline Chili's birthday will also be marked by an official city declaration. Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval is expected to christen today as "Skyline Chili Day," acknowledging the company's long-standing presence and cultural impact on the city.
