A West Price Hill neighborhood was disrupted yesterday when a house fire on Prosperity Place prompted an emergency response and the subsequent displacement of residents. According to WLWT, the fire was reported near Ashbrook Drive around 4:15 p.m., and Emergency crews arrived on the scene to address the blaze.
Upon arrival, the Cincinnati Fire Department indicated that their teams were confronted with smoke and flames emanating from the house's back deck, spreading rapidly up to the attic. A thorough search ensured no individuals were inside the structure, and defensive operations were promptly initiated, according to WCPO News.
Efforts to subdue the flames were successful within approximately 20 minutes, as stated in a press release obtained by WLWT. While the fire's origin remains a subject of investigation, officials confirmed that smoke detectors were in place and functional at the time of the incident.
Five residents were uprooted from their homes as a result of the fire, which caused an estimated $150,000 in damage. According to Local12 News, they are receiving aid from the Red Cross, which supports people affected by such sudden calamities. The material toll, while quantifiable, pales in comparison to the immediate alteration of these individuals' lives.
