
Community members and parents breathed a sigh of relief after the Concord Police Department diffused what could have been a tense situation at a local school campus. According to a social media post from the Concord Police Department, a call occurred at approximately 1:27 PM, reporting a potential threat with a firearm at Cambridge Elementary and Oak Grove Middle School. Oak Grove Middle School was promptly locked down, and officers were dispatched to ensure the safety of students and staff.
While parents waited anxiously outside, law enforcement conducted a comprehensive safety check. During the school dismissal, the police received a tip from a student, casting light upon a possible suspect. This tip led officers to a student at Oak Grove Middle School, alleged to have been the origin of the threat. The student, found at their residence, was arrested for falsely reporting an emergency.
The suspected student was later released to the custody of their guardians.
