DeKalb County families, if your kids are looking to stay active this winter, the local Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs department is offering options. Registration for youth basketball and cheerleading is now open and will run through Thursday, as reported by DeKalb County's official news release.
The county is welcoming kids ages 5 to 17 to participate in basketball or cheerleading, with options tailored to various ages and skill levels. Beginners can join the instructional league for $35 for ages 5 to 6. For older kids, the division basketball league costs $75 and includes a uniform.
The cheerleading program welcomes participants ages 5 to 14 for a registration fee of $65, which includes one uniform, with additional fees as necessary. The programs will officially start on December 14, allowing time for preparation.
Practice times and dates are still to be determined, but parents can register at any local recreation center.
