
Yesterday morning, a Transit Police Department (TPD) officer apprehended a 44-year-old man attempting to steal a locked e-bike at the Oak Grove MBTA station. The officer noticed the man using tools to break the lock and intervened before the e-bike could be taken. This incident occurred around 10 a.m. and revealed that the man had an outstanding warrant in New Hampshire.
The suspect was apprehended by the transit officer and was transported to TPD headquarters for the booking process. The MBTA Transit Police posted on X, "a dedicated TPD officer interrupted a 44y/o male utilizing tools was actively trying to steal a locked e bike."
