A 26-year-old man faced the grave misfortune of being robbed twice within the span of 30 minutes at a Mobile Gas Station in North St. Louis. The harrowing incidents occurred late in the evening of October 4, around 9:45 p.m., as confirmed by the District 4 officers who are currently investigating the case.
The initial robbery took place as the man sat in his tan 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, at pump #9, when an armed individual invaded the space of his passenger seat. The perpetrator hit the victim with the gun and coerced him into surrendering the keys to the vehicle. The assailant then absconded with the Equinox, leaving the victim stranded at the gas station, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's report.
Enduring his ordeal, the victim remained at the scene, likely processing the shock and gathering himself. But a mere half-hour later, he was approached by yet another individual, possibly a juvenile, brandishing a gun and demanding him out of the car, said the man. This second robber managed to drive off; however, the victim made an attempt to retain possession of his vehicle by holding onto it and was, as a consequence, dragged across the parking lot.
In an alarming escalation of violence, a mini-van drove by, and someone within it began firing shots at the victim. Miraculously, without being shot, the man ultimately relinquished his grip on the vehicle and succumbed to the ground. Both the stolen Equinox and the mini-van were last reported fleeing west on Natural Bridge.
St. Louis police are actively pursuing the investigation and request that anyone with information contact the Central Patrol Division at 314-444-2500 to speak with a District 4 detective.
