El Paso residents can anticipate a clear shift in the weather this week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) El Paso, which is set to bring a mix of sunny days, potential dust, and a slight chance of showers. With today expected to be mostly sunny and reaching a high near 89 degrees, a comfortable warmth settles over the city, accompanied by a mild south wind traveling at 6 to 10 mph according to the National Weather Service.
The clarity will continue into the evening, with the forecast predicting mostly clear skies and a low of around 62 degrees, where the south-southwest wind will persist at 8 to 10 mph, bringing in a predictable pattern that flows well into the night. However, come Tuesday, Patchy blowing dust after noon is forecasted to add an element of variance to the otherwise sunny day that could lead to reduced visibility and potential respiratory discomfort for sensitive individuals, during this time, the winds are expected to ramp up significantly hitting speeds between 21 to 26 mph, and gusts could reach as high as 39 mph, as noted by the National Weather Service.
The windy conditions are slated to lessen on Tuesday night, creating a mostly clear sky and a low of around 54 degrees. According to the NWS El Paso, the west-northwest wind will decrease to a 9 to 14 mph pace after midnight, although gusts could still peak at around 37 mph. The subsequent days, Wednesday and Thursday, project a continued sunny disposition, with highs of 71 and 75 degrees respectively, bowing to cooler nights as temperatures dip to lows around 49 and 54 degrees.
As the week progresses, Friday will also see sunny skies with a high near 78 degrees during the day, but by evening, a 20 percent chance of showers slips into the forecast before midnight, suggesting a brief punctuation in the week's otherwise dry narrative. The weekend is set to embrace a return to full sunlight, offering highs hovering near the 78-degree mark, and nighttime lows marginally warmer, resting at about 55 degrees, easing us into what looks to be a mostly sunny Sunday with a high near 75.
