A post-midnight altercation at a Fall River bar led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man on several serious charges. According to a Facebook post by the New Bedford Police Department, patrol officers were dispatched to the Last Round Bar & Grill in the early hours of Sunday following reports of a fight. The suspect, identified as Ricky Ricardo Lorinzi of Fall River, allegedly threatened security staff with a firearm before fleeing the scene.
Officers subsequently found Lorinzi at the intersection of William St. and Acushnet Ave., where he allegedly tried to initially give a false name. It is reported that inside the abandoned vehicle, Lorinzi left behind a small stash of crack cocaine and a digital scale. Investigation further led the police to discover a firearm in the vicinity of a nearby building. The weapon, a Taurus G3C, was loaded with a high-capacity magazine containing 16 9mm cartridges.
The New Bedford Police Department concluded with the list of charges against Lorinzi which includes possession of a firearm loaded with a high-capacity magazine, threatening use of a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of crack cocaine. These allegations are made more severe considering Lorinzi's history; he was previously convicted for firearm possession in January 2023 and was on probation from the Fall River District Court at the time of this incident.
The arrest was made by Officer Shawn Raposo. The New Bedford Police are continuing their investigation and are requesting information from the public about this incident.
