
A fatal collision between a motorcycle and a car in North Las Vegas claimed one life and left another person with minor injuries over the weekend. According to 8 News Now, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of West Ann Road and Old Grove Way.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that a 2016 Victory Vegas motorcycle was heading east on West Ann Road when it collided with a 2018 Kia Forte, which was making a left turn from the westbound lane into the path of the motorcycle. The impact of the crash caused the motorcyclist to be ejected onto the roadway, where he was later pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Kia sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, as noted by KTNV.
Video surveillance and investigative evidence from the scene confirmed the details leading up to the tragic event. The authorities clarified that impairment did not appear to play a role in the collision. This recent fatality marks the 115th traffic-related death in the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for the year 2024, as per 8 News Now.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has not yet released the identity of the deceased rider, pending notification of next of kin.
