Yesterday, a gas station in Orlando became the site of a severe vehicular accident. A two-car collision resulted in a fire at the Wawa gas station on Narcoossee Road. According to WFTV, the crash occurred around 12:12 p.m. and caused significant damage to the station's fuel pumps.
Orlando firefighters were dispatched to the scene and swiftly worked to contain the blaze. The firefighting efforts were focused on preventing the fire from spreading to additional fuel pumps and nearby vehicles. Despite the violent nature of the crash, firefighters could keep the fire limited to the vehicles and fuel pumps involved before extinguishing the fire entirely. One person, reportedly seriously injured in the crash, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment, as reported by WESH.
The Orlando Fire Department relayed that their team responded to the accident at the intersection of Narcoossee Road and Boggy Creek Road shortly after noon. The urgent response from firefighters helped to control the situation and prevented what could have been a much larger disaster with even more grave consequences.
