A Florissant man was pronounced dead following a vehicle crash in West Alton last Saturday evening. KSDK reported that 72-year-old Gary S. Caldwell died at the scene on Missouri Route 94 near Dresser Island Road around 7:50 p.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol's crash report indicates that excessive speed was a key factor. Caldwell was driving a 1973 Triumph TR6 when he lost control on a curve on Dress Island Drive. His vehicle went off the highway and overturned, leading to his death shortly before 8:15 p.m., according to FOX 2 now.
