Flagstaff Police have taken into custody a man in connection with a murder and sexual assault case that has shaken the local community. Samuel Lionel Lee, 38, of Ganado, now faces allegations of having played a grave role in the death of Sandy Singer, also 38, hailing from Tonalea. The suspect has been charged with second-degree murder and four counts of sexual assault, marking a grim chapter in a disturbing sequence of events that began on October 1.
Reports on October 21st from FOX 10 Phoenix indicate that initial calls to the police described a man, later identified as Lee, attempting to quickly place an apparently unresponsive woman into a vehicle near Lake Mary Road and Beulah Boulevard. Officers swiftly responded, encountering Lee and Singer, with Singer in an unresponsive state. Officers "initiated life-saving measures," but despite their efforts and the assistance of medical personnel, Singer was dead on the scene.
Lee's arrest did not occur immediately but unfolded on the 18th of October, over two weeks after Singer's body was discovered. The location of the grim discovery, 501 S. Milton Road, was disclosed by AZ Daily Sun, adding to the layers of information provided by sources pertaining to the incident. Following the arrest, Lee was booked into jail, where he remains as the judicial process begins to unfold.
Flagstaff Police, through ongoing investigations, aim to shed further light on the circumstances that led to Singer's tragic death.
