Glendale police have confirmed that a man and a woman, both in their twenties, were found dead in an apartment complex near 79th Avenue and Union Hills Road in an apparent murder-suicide on Tuesday. According to Arizona's Family, family members discovered the bodies after coming to check on the couple, realizing a tragic scene that Glendale Officer Moroni Mendez described as “horrific” for the relatives who were the first on-site.
Further information released by the Glendale Police Department suggests no suspects are being sought, leading investigators to believe the incident was self-contained, the victims might have been deceased for a couple of days before being found, and the investigation remains ongoing. FOX 10 Phoenix reported that police were scheduled to provide more details on Wednesday.
A statement obtained by Arizona's Family, “We are aware of the incident, and we are working with law enforcement in their investigation," adding that "Resident safety and wellbeing are our priority, and our hearts are with the family of those involved." They refrained from further comments due to the ongoing nature of the police work.
