A couple has been arrested after an alleged kidnapping and attempted murder incident at a Chick-fil-A in west Houston. Hana Ahmad Alolaimi and her husband, Omar Mahmoud Bishtawi, face serious charges in a situation involving betrayal and violence.
The confrontation took place at the Chick-fil-A on Westheimer last Saturday night around 9 p.m. Hana Ahmad Alolaimi and Omar Mahmoud Bishtawi have been charged with aggravated kidnapping and assault in connection with the incident.
According to Click2Houston, which first reported the arrest, stated that the situation turned violent when Alolaimi persuaded her affair partner to get into her vehicle. Bishtawi was hiding in the backseat under a curtain, who allegedly emerged to place the victim in a chokehold and subsequently shot him twice in the thigh as he tried to escape.
On a tense night, Bishtawi reportedly jumped out with a gun, pressing it to the victim's head while he was trapped in Alolaimi’s car, according to ABC13. Despite the victim's claims that he had a delivery and couldn't leave, Alolaimi tried to drive away, ultimately leading to the shooting that could have been fatal if the victim had bled out, as noted by the magistrate during the court hearing.
The intended location for the incident was reportedly behind a nearby Target, a known meeting place for Alolaimi and the victim, according to court documents. This area was across from the apartment complex where both Alolaimi and the victim lived.
After the man was shot, the couple fled but later turned themselves in to police, giving conflicting statements, as noted in court records. The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to recover. Alolaimi's bond has been set at $75,000, while Bishtawi's is set at $100,000.
