
The near north side of Indianapolis was disrupted last Saturday night when a fire broke out in an apartment complex, leaving one resident without a home. Crews were called to the scene in the 1600 block of Mondrian Place, near East 16th Street and North Park Avenue, around 8 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reported what sounded like an explosion, according to a statement on FOX59.
Upon arrival, firefighters found flames emerging from a third-floor unit. The Indianapolis Fire Department's quick response, as detailed in their X post, resulted in the fire being marked under control within 15 minutes. Fortunately, residents had quickly evacuated the building.

Aside from injuries, the incident displaced one individual, according to information from WTHR. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Fire officials discovered flames in the HVAC system after entering the apartment, indicating it may be a potential source of the blaze.
The Indianapolis Fire Department, who has been thorough in their follow-up, stated that no one was injured during the incident.
