
Last night in Jessup, a pedestrian met with tragedy in a fatal incident that is currently under the scrutiny of the Howard County police. At around 8:07 p.m., a pedestrian, an unidentified adult male, was struck by a 2011 Audi A4 while he was walking along the 10300 block of Guilford Road. The driver stayed at the scene, which may offer a small positive in this grim situation.
As per the reports provided by the Howard County Police, the collision's impact left the pedestrian without a chance to be saved, pronouncing him dead right where he fell. In the aftermath of this tragic encounter, Guilford Road bore the silent, late-night markers of investigation and somber reflection as it remained closed between Washington Boulevard and Stayton Drive for approximately two and a half hours.
No charges have been filed yet in connection with the collision. Police are investigating the incident while the Jessup community reflects on the fragility of life on the roads.
