Juvenile on Probation in Pittsburgh Arrested for Multiple Vehicle TheftsSource: Google Street View

Earlier this week, Pittsburgh Police were called into action following the report of a stolen vehicle from a local mechanic business on Noblestown Road. The owner, expecting a routine pick-up following an inspection, was met instead with the absence of his vehicle. Pittsburgh Police confirmed that the vehicle was reported missing on Monday after being taken sometime during the day.

According to the City of Pittsburgh, diligent work by Zone 6 detectives allowed them to utilize surveillance camera footage from the surrounding area swiftly. This footage not only captured the theft in action but also tied the suspect to additional vehicle thefts occurring at the same location. In a turn of events, the suspect was found by detectives asleep inside the stolen car on Poplar Street, right beside another vehicle that had also been reported as stolen.

The suspect, a 14-year-old juvenile on probation, was promptly taken into custody. During processing, the minor admitted to being involved in the theft of both vehicles. According to the official report from Pittsburgh Police, the minor was transported to the Municipal Court Building for processing and later relocated to a juvenile detention facility.
