The City of Kennesaw is preparing for its annual holiday kickoff with the Day with Santa parade and festival on December 7. This event will attract families and holiday enthusiasts for a day of festive activities. The festivities begin at 1:00 p.m. on Main Street, with the parade featuring Santa Claus starting at 2:00 p.m.
According to an announcement from the City of Kennesaw, as the holiday celebration approaches, residents can look forward to a lively parade featuring marching bands, festive floats, and vintage cars. Colorfully costumed characters will join Santa in the procession, starting at Adams Park. The parade will head south on Main Street, turn right onto Watts Drive, and loop back through Park Drive into Adams Park. Attendees should be aware of road closures on Park Drive, Dallas Street, and Whitfield Place.
In addition to the parade, Downtown Kennesaw will play host to an array of holiday activities until 6:00 p.m. These include live stage performances, a vendor market ideal for holiday shopping, and opportunities for attendees to take free photos with Santa. The evening's climax is set for the ceremonial tree lighting at 6:00 p.m. Organizations and individuals interested in participating in the parade can register for free, with their entries being eligible for judging and prizes in various categories.
As mentioned in the City of Kennesaw announcement, alongside the Day with Santa festivities, the Kennesaw-Acworth Optimist Club, in partnership with Kennesaw Parks & Recreation, will host a Breakfast with Santa event. Guests can enjoy an "all-you-care-to-eat" spread of pancakes and other breakfast items. There are two seating options: from 8 to 9:15 a.m. and from 10 to 11:15 a.m. with advance tickets priced at $8 per person.
