A tragic incident occurred late Friday night on State Road 50 in Lake County, where a 30-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a pickup truck. According to ClickOrlando, the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. near Anderson Street. The driver of the Chevy Silverado, a 67-year-old man from Texas, was unharmed during the incident.
As reported by InsideLake, the collision occurred when the bicyclist, traveling north on Anderson Street, attempted a left turn onto SR-50 and entered the path of the oncoming truck. This detail suggests that the bicyclist might not have seen the truck or misjudged its distance or speed. The impact caused the victim to be ejected from his bicycle, and subsequently, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
