A tense standoff concluded late Friday night when Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team members arrested a woman accused of robbing a Shell gas station in Lake Oswego. According to the City of Lake Oswego Police Department, 47-year-old Brynne Logan, a local resident, was charged with Robbery 1, Menacing, and Theft 3 following the incident.
The events unfurled when the police were called at 6:49 P.M. to respond to an armed robbery at the gas station located at 16211 Boones Ferry Road. An employee recounted the suspect taking lighters and brandishing a Knife in a threatening manner, approximately 25 to 30 minutes prior to making the 911 call. Logan, who was known to officers from previous encounters throughout that day, was pinpointed as a suspect due to her matching description and her increasingly alarming behavior.
Attempts to coax Logan from her apartment in the 4000 block of Oakridge Road were unsuccessful. Citing concerns over public safety triggered by her conduct, the SWAT team moved in to assist with the arrest. "The responding officers recognized the behavior of the suspect appeared to be escalating, which in turn, created a concern for the safety of our community," the Lake Oswego Police Department said in an official statement.
In a turn toward calm, Logan ultimately emerged from the back door of her abode and surrendered to the SWAT officers. The arrest occurred without further incident and Logan was subsequently detained at the Clackamas County Jail.
