Loring Park residents and commuters take note: there's some construction work you'll need to work around this week. Starting Monday, October 21, CenterPoint Energy has authorized its contractors to carry out service line replacement and meter move at an address on West Grant Street, wedged between Willow Street and LaSalle Avenue. This is part of their commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable service, enhancing the resilience of the infrastructure that powers the community.
The project will stretch over the course of the week, concluding on Friday, October 25. Traffic flow will be altered; traffic on West Grant Street will be restricted between Willow Street and LaSalle Avenue, but parking entrances to the affected block will stay accessible, street parking, however, won't be an option. Pedestrians won't be inconvenienced much as the sidewalks on both sides of West Grant Street will remain open throughout the construction period.
Transit riders should be ready for some changes too. The westbound bus stop at the junction of LaSalle Avenue and West Grant Street is set to be closed as long as the construction persists in the area. Commuters relying on this stop will need to find an alternative for the week, potentially adding a wrinkle to daily routines in search of the next closest stop.
Concerned citizens looking for more details or updates on the work's progress can visit CenterPoint Energy's website for comprehensive information. The company's Communication Specialist can be contacted at 612-321-5546, or through email at [email protected], for direct inquiries. CenterPoint appreciates residents’ patience, expressing it with a sentiment for a great season amidst the inconvenience the upgrades might cause.
