Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has confirmed that his office's Sex Crimes Division is in the thick of reviewing new evidence in the Marilyn Manson sexual misconduct probe. As reported by KTLA, this includes fresh leads that have emerged only within the past few weeks. Manson, born Brian Warner, has been hounded by accusations from numerous women since 2021, with claims ranging from sexual abuse to torture.
Gascón emphasized to the public that, "It is our office’s responsibility to ensure that we have an complete picture of the admissible evidence available before making a filing decision." With the new evidence on their desks, the D.A.’s office appears to be moving toward a decisive juncture in the case, with a filing decision anticipated in the near future. This development follows a prior raid on Manson's West Hollywood home by the LASD, as well as settlements Manson made in 2023 with at least two accusers, including actress Esmé Bianco as per TMZ.
The "Westworld" actor Evan Rachel Wood has been among the most vocal of Manson's accusers, stating that she was groomed by him as a teenager and expressing fear of retribution for years before coming forward with her allegations. Despite previous indications from law enforcement sources suggesting Manson's case might not lead to charges due to "some credibility issues with the victim," the new leads and evidence suggest the investigation has taken a significant turn. Howard King, Manson’s attorney, has consistently dismissed the allegations in a response detailed by the Los Angeles Times, branding them as "false, alleged to have taken place more than a decade ago" and claiming they are "part of a coordinated attack by former partners and associates of Mr. Warner."
While Gascón has opted out of meeting with accusers personally during the investigation, he noted that senior staffers have already commenced those conversations, as outlined in the statement by the Los Angeles County DA's office.
