Former "Love Island USA" contestant Hannah Smith was arrested in Atlanta last week on two felony charges: making terroristic threats and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer. Reports, including those from FOX 5 Atlanta and PEOPLE, state that on Sept. 30, Smith became disorderly at a concert venue and attempted to punch a police officer who was helping her get into an Uber.
According to a report by PEOPLE, following her exit from the concert held at The Battery ATL, it's claimed that Smith did not only attempt the punch but also kicked the arresting officer while handcuffed as she was being transported to the county jail; this was despite being assisted by the same officer to hail a ride service. Smith's transgressions reportedly included threats to kill the officer and a member of their family—a series of events that led to her apprehension shortly before midnight, as jail records reveal, and left her with a bond set at $8,000 that got posted the following day, resulting in her release.
Cobb County authorities have not confirmed or denied details about the arrest of reality TV personality Hannah Smith. Meanwhile, Smith's representatives have chosen to remain silent and have not commented on the situation.
Despite the serious charges, Hannah Smith seems to have resumed her public life, with no mention of her legal issues on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where she continues to engage with followers. In a previous interview with Today after leaving "Love Island USA," she reflected on her connections in the villa, stating, "I’m actually very happy that me and Kendall did end up getting to meet each other and being paired up with each other because we had so much in common. With me and him, we were just like the goofy couple in the villa," as per a report from PEOPLE.
