
A man has died following an accident in Grand Rapids which occurred last Friday afternoon, involving his moped and a car. The Grand Rapids Police Department reported to the 1300 block of Sherman Street SE near Giddings Avenue SE at approximately 3:30 p.m., where the crash occurred.
According to a news release by the Grand Rapids Police Department and confirmed by MLive, the adult male moped driver ran a stop sign and was struck by an automobile traveling north on Giddings Avenue SE. The name of the deceased has not yet been released to the public. In the aftermath of the accident, the moped driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition and passed away a short time later.
The car's driver involved in the collision was reported to have remained at the scene and cooperated with police officers. This account was corroborated by reports from both WOODTV and FOX 17 News. No injuries were reported for the other vehicle's driver.
