
A 34-year-old man's life came to a tragic end Wednesday night when he was found shot to death in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood of Chicago's South Side. According to CBS News Chicago, the individual was discovered in a stairwell within an apartment complex on the 7800 block of South Marshfield at approximately 8:30 p.m., bearing a mortal gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A statement obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times confirmed that police officers arrived at the scene around 8:20 p.m. The circumstances that led up to this violent incident are still under investigation, and at present, no individual is in custody in connection with the shooting.
