As the San Diego County Sheriff's Office reports, at roughly 5:13 p.m., a male in his 60s was crossing East Vista Way at Townsite Drive when he was hit by a 2024 Dodge Ram 1500. The female driver in her 30s, according to the authorities, stayed on the scene and cooperated with investigators, who have found no indication that alcohol played a role in the accident.
Running against the clock, deputies and emergency personnel endeavored to save the man, but their life-saving efforts concluded in futility as he succumbed to his injuries. The inquiry into this fatal intersection encounter is now in the hands of the Vista Traffic Division.
