Alejandro David Gonzalez has been indicted on multiple charges, including the first-degree murder of his mother. In a statement released yesterday, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell detailed the gruesome discovery made by the Glendale Police Department at a residence near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
Upon their arrival at the scene on September 27, officers found a woman's decapitated body, later identified as Gonzalez's mother. Gonzalez faces serious charges consisting of first-degree murder, a class one dangerous and domestic violence felony, theft of means of transportation, a class three felony and tampering with physical evidence, a class six felony, as the grand jury indicted him on October 3. His indictment follows a prompt submission of the case by Glendale police on September 28.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has declared that Gonzalez is currently jailed with a $1,000,000 cash-only bond and his first arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, at 8:30 a.m. The indictment brings together the solemn legal consequences of a series of events that ended in a family tragedy.
