Early morning violence disturbed the Atlanta community on Saturday, when a 29-year-old man was shot at 3819 Jonesboro Rd. SE. According to a statement from the Atlanta Police Department, Zone 3 officers were dispatched at approximately 6:37 a.m. in response to the incident. On arrival, it became clear that the victim had already sought help elsewhere, having left the scene for a location over two miles away.
The victim was located at 1120 South Ave., and emergency services quickly responded, transporting the individual to a medical facility for treatment. Despite sustaining a gunshot wound, the victim remained conscious and able to breathe. After arriving at the hospital, officers confirmed the victim was alert, facing the attack with a courage no one should have to summon over something as fundamental as their own life.
