A man aged 64 suffered serious injuries last night after losing control of his electric bicycle in Balboa Park. The accident occurred on Old Globe Way and was reported at 9:29 PM. The bicyclist, who has not been named, was taken to UCSD Hospital with a range of injuries, including a fractured pelvis, facial fractures, fractured clavicle, fractured ribs, and a brain bleed. Fortunately, the injuries are considered non-life threatening, according to the San Diego Police Department's Watch Commander's Log.
The SDPD indicates that alcohol was a factor in the accident. Traffic Division officers responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
