A 30-year-old man was shot and injured in the Fairground neighborhood of St. Louis late on the evening of October 6. The incident occurred in the 4000 block of Peck at approximately 10 p.m., according to a report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD).
The victim was on foot when he encountered the gunfire. "He was walking when he saw muzzle flashes then felt pain and realized he was shot," the man relayed to the SLMPD authorities. After managing to walk home, the man was taken to the hospital by a relative. His condition was reported to be critical but stable. Police from District 4 are actively trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Details about the perpetrator or the motive behind the shooting remain sketchy, and investigators are appealing to the public for assistance. The SLMPD is urging anyone with information that could lead to solving this crime to reach out.
