The Blount County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating an incident at AMS Haunted Attractions, a popular haunted house located in Maryville after an alarming occurrence involving alleged assaults unfolded over the weekend. According to a statement released early Monday by the attraction, as quoted by WVLT, "a customer allegedly assaulted several actors" at the haunted house situated off of E. Lamar Alexander Parkway.
Working in collaboration with law enforcement, the attraction is determined to ensure the alleged assailant faces justice, stating "we are working closely with authorities to bring the individual who did this to justice and ensure he is prosecuted to the fullest extent possible," as per WVLT. An additional security measure, the attraction plans to deploy training for their workers and has spoken in the same breath about the imperative of Actor, staff, and guest safety.
Further underscoring the seriousness of the incident, one of the actors involved was treated at a local hospital and is now recovering at home. AMS Haunted Attractions emphasized their commitment to safety, specifying the presence of an off-duty law enforcement officer at the site and engagement of extra private security for the seasonal period. "The safety of our actors, staff, and guests is our top priority," AMS Haunted Attractions conveyed in a statement obtained by WATE.
